Who are we?

Ryedale Youth Theatre was formed in 1991 in memory of Mrs June Veysey whose dream was to create a local youth musical theatre company.

Auditions for our annual Easter production take place in the Autumn and the acting members meet for rehearsals every Thursday evening thereafter and during half term and Easter holidays.

We encourage our members to learn about all aspects of theatrical production, with older members involved in the production as assistant directors, choreographers and assisting behind the scenes with sound and lighting, props and scenery painting etc.  Ryedale Youth Theatre continues to attract a wealth of talented young members age 8 – 18 and has become one of the most well-respected youth theatres in the country.

Many of our ex-members have gone on to work successfully in professional theatre, TV and film.

Ryedale Youth Theatre is a registered Charity No. 1053362
